Simpact Foundation is a philanthropic organization whose vision is to bring hope to the most vulnerable women and children living in poverty through sustainable and transformational social impact. Our work focuses on addressing poverty through 3 Core Areas; Gender Equality through Women Economic Empowerment, Access to Quality Education while integrating Conservation of our Environment to achieve sustainable social impact. Our programmatic interventions focuses on addressing social disparities and environmental issues through a unique market based approach that is financially sustainable. According to OECD data, some of the largest recipients of development aid are in Africa, yet Africa is home to more than half of the world’s poor. Zambia has one of the fastest growing populations and like many African countries, it is plagued with high poverty levels. More than half of the population are monetary poor with the rural poverty prevalence being 3times higher. Because of the comparatively higher poverty levels in the rural parts of the country, most of our programme work is targeted at this population.
Through our efforts we are contributing towards achieving 9 of the 17 Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
1 No poverty, 2 Zero Hunger, 4 Quality Education, 5 Gender Equality, 6 Clean Water and Sanitation, 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, 10 Reduced Inequalities, 13 Climate Action and 15 Life On Land

OUR DEVELOPMENT APPROACH

We believe that we can reduce reliance on donor aid by combining a market based approach and result based development methodologies to sustainably address poverty and environmental issues. By leveraging our existing human capital, which includes our vast financial and investment management expertise, we can sustainably raise funds for our social impact programs through a mutually beneficial partnership model. Some of the partnership options we use includes providing personal financial management training for corporate partners employees in exchange for a donation towards our social programs. Low financial literacy and health do not just affect the poor, according to available data, different categories of adults including salaried employees struggle with personal financial management and lack the necessary knowledge and skills to meet their financial goals. Despite higher levels of financial inclusion, only 13.6% of adults in Zambia are financially healthy. By subscribing to our services, our partners not only receive critical personal financial management training, but they also play a role in conserving our environment and improving the lives of many people living in poverty. We leverage our unique expertise and an entrepreneurial approach to create mutually beneficial value to address poverty and conserve our environment.
OUR VISION 2027

Our strategic plan sets out the path for us to be able to transform the lives of over 200,000 people living in poverty.
